Tess holds an MFA in creative writing from New York University, where she was a Lillian Vernon Fellow and a Graduate Institute Research Fellow in Paris. Recently, she was a Paul La Farge fellow at MacDowell, where she worked on her second novel. She currently lives between Los Angeles and New York.
The Office of Special Programs at Tisch School of the Arts provides access to the arts. Whether you’re an NYU or visiting college student, high school student or working professional, we provide you with the introductory exposure to the performing or cinematic arts and the advanced-level training to grow your craft.
Work-Life Balance. Earn your degree in 22 months with classes held every other week, on Fridays and Saturdays, to maximize your time at work and home. Students earn 60 credits by completing the required coursework and attending scheduled classes. Graduates earn an Master of Business Administration from Stern.
MFA in Film. As a core member of Toronto’s vibrant film community, our Graduate Program offers in-depth instruction in four interrelating areas: 1. Expanded Documentary. Encompassing essay and vérité films, interactive and transmedia works, community and social justice docs, digital activism and autoethnography.
