Emmanuel College, Vazhichal was founded by a group of daring young priests who had lofty dreams on behalf of the common people of this region. They took a great leap into the unknown hoping to obtain for their brothers and sisters, the knowledge of the most advanced developments in modern science and technology, which was once considered beyond their reach.
About Us. Emmanuel provides an environment for learning & living that is both beautiful and peaceful. We work, socialise & live together as a close–knit College community, making use of our wide network of support. The College was founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay, who was Chancellor of the Exchequer to Elizabeth I.
About. Emmanuel College is a coeducational residential college on the main University of Queensland (UQ) campus at St Lucia. Occupying an enviable position on the banks of the Brisbane River, with public transport and other amenities close to hand, the College is home to around 340 local and international students.

Emmanuel College acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which the College is located, the people of the Turrbal nation and Jagera/Yaggera nation. Our community lives, learns and grows together on these rich lands and waters that are, and have been, a place of gathering for thousands of years.
