Strangers on a Train is a 1951 American film noir psychological thriller film produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and based on the 1950 novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith. It was shot in the autumn of 1950 and released by Warner Bros. on June 30th the next year.

Though the book allegedly describes an affair between the two protagonists--I don't know because I haven't read it--the film somewhat subtley suggests the unrequited yearning of Bruno for Guy.
