Mario Adorf nació el 8 de septiembre de 1930 en Zurich, Suiza. Padres Hijo ilegítimo de Matteo Menniti, cirujano italiano, y de Alice Adorf, asistente médico alemana. Estudios Cursó estudios en Alemania, se inició en el teatro con Leonard Steckei y se reveló en Herr Puntila und sein knetch Matti (Puntilla y su criado Matti), de Bertolt Brecht.
Mario Adorf se narodil 8.9.1930 v Curychu ve Švýcarsku. Studoval anglickou literaturu, filozofii a divadelní vědu a při studiu si vydělával jako komparsista. Navštěvoval hereckou školu (1953-55) Otty Falckenberga v Mnichově a do roku 1962 byl vystupoval v mnichovské činohře Kammerspiel.
