I first learned of Lizzie Borden from the "Simpsons" Halloween episode from 1993. Borden was a jury member at a trial determining whether Homer should get to keep his soul after having sold it to the Devil - played by Ned Flanders - for a donut. "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" depicts her as a tragic, sympathetic figure.
The European theatrical version of the movie shows Elizabeth Montgomery 's nudity during the scene when she kills her parents.
