Mary wrote the preface and the 14 comedies and histories, and Charles contributed the 6 tragedies; only Charles’s name, however, appeared on the title page.

Hamlet will be performed by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men (TLCM) on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 July 2024 at 7pm for the annual open-air Shakespeare Festival which is always a summer highlight at the Cathedral.

And like most great works, it is both entertaining and meaningful. One of the ways in which this Disney tale finds meaning is in how it embodies and visualizes recognizable themes and motifs from other great works of art.
