5 de nov. de 2018 · Georg Wilhelm Steller was an 18th century German who crammed a lot into his not quite 38 years. He was a botanist, zoologist, physician and explorer who arrived in Russia in 1734 while accompanying wounded war veterans there.
Georg Wilhelm Steller, egentligen Georg Wilhelm Stoeller, född 10 mars 1709, död 14 november 1746, var en tysk läkare och naturforskare. Då han inte såg en möjlighet att jobba som läkare i Tyskland gick han till Ryssland. 1734 deltog han som läkare i ett ryskt krig mot Polen.
Georg Wilhelm Steller (10. maaliskuuta 1709 Windsheim, Franken – 12. marraskuuta 1746 Tjumen, Siperia, Venäjä) oli saksalainen luonnontieteilijä, joka tutki Venäjän ja Alaskan eläimistöä ja kasvillisuutta.. Hänen isänsä Johann Jakob Stöhler, vuodesta 1715 Stöller, oli kotoisin Nürnbergistä. 1702 hän tuli Windsheimiin lukion kanttoriksi ja kirkon urkuriksi.
