17 de jul. de 2024 · In 1954, pianist Joe Sample, saxophonist Wilton Felder and drummer Stix Hooper formed The Swingsters in Houston, Texas. They were soon joined by trombonist Wayne Henderson, flutist Hubert Laws and bassist Henry Wilson. The band's sound was initially rooted in hard bop and R&B.

2 de jul. de 2024 · This album comprises new recordings or reworkings of Sample's catalog of great music. The further I've gotten into Joe Sample, though, it is hard to say that any of the versions on this album are superior to their original recordings elsewhere.
