15 de jun. de 2024 · “Being Human” is a song by Emily King from the soundtrack of Steven Universe Future (Original Soundtrack) released in 2020. The song reflects on the duality of a character named Steven, who is part human and part gem, a type of magical being in the Steven Universe series.
The Diamonds emerged 20,000 years ago, but modern humans emerged somewhere between 60K-160K years ago. They're just much more advanced. I like to think that it's just how Steven and the earth sees them but I wonder if there's any in universe reason that gems look like human even….
Like, part of the gem's essence went into his human half and is a permanent part of that half, so that if they're forced apart (like in CYM) it feels like it neatly explains both why the human half doesn't immediately die/fall apart and why the gem half seems to be missing some stuff it once had.
