The historic landscape and landmark County building form the park’s center, while an interactive splash fountain extends from the building and into the park defining a large green lawn area. San Diego Waterfront Park is a 12-acre open space park surrounding the San Diego County Administration Center. It sits across North Harbor Drive from sparkling San Diego Bay, and runs from Grape Street to Ash Street.
In May 2014, the 12-acre County Administration Center Waterfront Park opened on both the north and south sides of the building, formerly surface parking lots. There are open grassy areas, drought-tolerant flower gardens, picnic areas, playground with swings and slides, and an interactive water fountain.
