He wasn't a human. It wasn't a room he was in, but maybe it was white, if that. Each life had pros and cons. Every person he could be looked different but were the same race. Different weight, not sure of the face, but he didn't want to bald early and some balded. Maybe 3-5 choices he's guessing.
My theory is that most of our previous lives were largely unspectacular, and that our previous lives were generally unconnected to celebrities. But, humans have always totally obsessed over celebrities. And even people who aren't directly connected to celebrities often feel very connected.
