This year I am taking a year-long humanities course, and I decided to write my year-end research project around the work of Sufjan Stevens. I chose to write mainly about how Stevens uses the confessional mode of songwriting in Carrie & Lowell, as well as place-based songwriting with geographical references to Oregon.
