29 de jun. de 2024 · The Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup was an honorary event that pitted both established and make-shift tag teams against one another in a bid to win the coveted trophy. It actually elevated young wrestlers, such as Lex Luger and Sting, though it was relatively short-lived, until being revived, decades later.
Hace 3 días · Days later, the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament was held with its first night in Greenville, South Carolina. A partner-less Luger was teamed with Sting (whose partner Ronnie Garvin had been kayfabe injured) and the impromptu team won the entire tournament, defeating Blanchard and Anderson in the finals.
30 de jun. de 2024 · From 1986 through 1988, Jim Crockett Promotions sponsored the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. The winner of this tag team tournament each year won one million dollars and the prestigious Crockett Cup trophy.
