A battle ensues as the apes fight their way past a police blockade on the Golden Gate Bridge in an attempt to escape into the redwood forest. A police helicopter shoots at the apes, and Buck sacrifices himself to bring down the helicopter. Koba pushes the helicopter, with Jacobs still inside, into San Francisco Bay.
