15 de jun. de 2024 · Gene Ammons / Boss Tenors - 日々JAZZ★. ジーン・アモンズとソニー・スティットのテナー2管。 ゆえにアルバムタイトルはボス・テナーズと複数形に。 ただし、1曲目のThere Is No Greater Loveでは、ステッィトはアルトを吹いている。 二人のデータは以下の通りで同年代。 勢いが出てきた30代半ばの録音である。 当然ながら相手を意識しての演奏だったと思うが、決してでしゃばることはなく、2管の厚みを表現している。 3曲目の「枯葉」がやっぱりいい。 テナー2管となると、ズート・シムズとアル・コーンのアルバムEither Wayが思い浮かぶ。 本アルバムより半年前の1961年2月録音。
