30 de jun. de 2024 · Caryatids are the columns of the ancient temple, the Erechtheion, on the hill of Acropolis. These columns were sculpted in the form of maidens. They are modeled after the actual daughters of the architect. They were from a village named Karyes, hence ‘caryatids’.
