Kin-Ichi Motegi (born 茂木欣一; December 15, 1967) is a Japanese drummer born in Tokyo, Japan in 1967. He is most famous for his work in rock group Fishmans where he plays a primary role, as well as drumming for Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and So Many Tears.

Fishmans ( Japanese: フィッシュマンズ, Hepburn: Fisshumanzu) are a Japanese band formed in 1987 in Minato, Tokyo. They are known for their unique psychedelic sound and the distinctive vocals of the late lead singer Shinji Sato, as well as the drum playing of Kin-Ichi Motegi and rocksteady basslines of Yuzuru Kashiwabara. The film contains dozens of restored archival and live footage of the band from the 90s, as well as a comparable number of band members contributing interviews to the film such as Kin-Ichi Motegi. The film was in production for over two years starting in 2019.

So Many Tears is a rock group formed in 2008 by Kin-Ichi Motegi and Takashi Kato. The band recruited bassist Yuzuru Kashiwabara in 2010 after a live performance titled "やはりあの男を呼ぶしかない" (or "I Can Only Call That Man"), and he now persists as a bonafide member.
