Anson Funderburgh (born James Anson Funderburgh; November 14, 1954) is an American blues guitar player and bandleader of Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets since 1978. Their style incorporates both Chicago blues and Texas blues.

C aribbean rocker Jimmy Buffett's longtime harp player, Fingers Taylor, turns in a straight-ahead set of electric blues on this solo outing, joined by ace guitarist Anson Funderburgh. As a harmonica player, Taylor has a deep, throaty sound that is well-suited to the blues.
Anson Funderburgh, who formed his group, the Rockets, in 1978, is now 50 years old. Legendary singer/harmonica player Sam Myers, now 68, joined him in ’86, forming one of the great bonds in blues history. But after 10 albums, including one anthology, Funderburgh added a new voice to the band’s latest effort, namely his own.
