8 de feb. de 2024 · Formed by guitarists Jeff Kalal, Cody Kelly, and Mike Socrates, bassist Tom Fihe, and drummer Zack Kelly, the band made its debut in 2006 with a self-titled EP. The instrumental quintet eventually made its full-length debut in 2009 with the release of Above the Earth, Below the Sky, which arrived via Metal Blade.
24 de sept. de 2016 · The Trees – completed by Kelly’s brother Cody and hometown friends Mike Socrates, Jeff Kalal and Tom Fihe, originally started off life as a part-time dorm room project, “just for fun”. They have, until now, approached everything in a resolutely DIY fashion, recording most of their work themselves at Kelly’s in-house studio.

18 de jul. de 2016 · Mike Socrates: We just feel that it’s covering more ground from overall song structure standpoint. We didn’t continually ask ourselves “does this sound like the Trees?”. We just went with what felt right and pure and pushed forward with those ideas.
