Rocket Jockey is a juvenile science fiction novel by Philip St. John (a pseudonym of American writer Lester del Rey) with cover illustration by Alex Schomburg. The story follows the heroic efforts of young man Jerry Blaine in his efforts to win the famous rocket race, the Armstrong Classic.
Originally published in 1952 under the pen name of Philip St. John, this is the tale of a seventeen-year-old boy who reluctantly joins a rocket race around the solar system, only to find himself the perpetual victim of tricks by the conniving Martian men.
