Hugh Dillman McGaughy (February 8, 1885 – July 7, 1956) was an American Broadway and silent film actor. Dillman served as a Navy recruiter during World War I. His first marriage was to actress Marjorie Rambeau in 1919. They divorced in 1923.

11 de sept. de 2010 · You probably have never heard of Hugh Dillman. He was born in 1885 in Ohio under the name Hugh Dillman McGaughey, and made his way to the Broadway stage. He also had a brief silent movie film career, making a few movies such as “Am Amateur Widow.”
One of the more prevalent names I have come across in reviewing the Migration records is that of Hugh Dillman. He appears in 55 migration records. His second wife appears in 50 records (and not necessarily in the same record!). His first wife only appears in 3 migration records, but there are reasons for this as you will see later.
He was born Hugh Dillman McGaughy in Ohio, and dropping his surname became an actor. Having appeared in several shows on Broadway, he served as a recruiter for the U.S. Navy during World War I. Returning to the stage, he got a role in the silent movies in 1919, starring in An Amateur Widow where his character ends up marrying a wealthy widow.
