The 'lash' of the title is the one father eventually turns on son to make him man up to his responsibilities, and although this is quite a moral-toned film, it is directed well by the reliable Henry Edwards, and has a smattering of naughtiness in the person of the adulterous Dora Bush (Joan Maude).
