Sir Thomas Baring, 2nd Baronet (12 June 1772 – 3 April 1848), was a British banker and MP. He was the eldest son of Sir Francis Baring, 1st Baronet, founder of Barings Bank. His grandfather John Baring (1697–1748) had emigrated from Germany and established the family in England.

Thomas Baring was born in 1799, the second son of Sir Thomas Baring, 2nd bt. He began his picture collection in 1835 and constantly added to it until two years before his death in 1873. He purchased his father's Italian, Spanish, and French paintings in 1848, which were sold on his father's death by terms of his father's will.
