Toad the Wet Sprocket is an American alternative rock band formed in Santa Barbara, California, in 1986. The band at the time consisted of vocalist/guitarist Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning, and drummer Randy Guss, who stopped touring in 2017 and left the band in 2020.
Nichols Custom Guitars are built by Todd Nichols in his Santa Barbara workshop between summer tours playing guitar with his band Toad The Wet Sprocket.
Lead singer Glen Phillips’ heartfelt, introspective lyrics expressed in his deep, buttery croon backed by the earnest instrumentation, catchy melodies and vocal harmonies of guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning and drummer Randy Guss had fans hooked from the outset.

Todd Nichols, lead guitarist for Toad the Wet Sprocket (TTWS), used this guitar live in concert when they toured with Big Head Todd and the Monsters in 2019. He often played the song "Golden Age" live on this guitar. He recently sold it to artist Nate Chatterton, from Seattle, Washington.
