Medazzaland is the ninth studio album by English rock band Duran Duran. It was released on 14 October 1997 by Capitol Records solely in North America, Latin America and Japan. It reached number 58 on the Billboard 200 and number 66 on RPM ' s albums chart.

Talvin Singh OBE (born 1970) is an English musician, producer, and composer. A tabla player, he is known for creating an innovative fusion of Indian classical music with drum and bass. Singh is generally considered involved with an electronica subgenre called Asian Underground, and more recently as Indian and/or Asian electronica.

Duran Duran has taken a break from recording, according to Simon Le Bon on March 5th, the working title of the new album is Medazzaland. The word is a corruption of midazolam, an anesthetic drug used on Simon when he had dental surgery.
