Clifford Porter Hall (September 19, 1888 – October 6, 1953) was an American character actor known for appearing in a number of films in the 1930s and 1940s. Hall typically played villains or comedic incompetent characters.

His movie career was not a mirror of his real life, however. Mr. Hall was well known as a generous and outgoing person who was well-liked by almost everybody he knew.
Porter Hall is a five-story academic building on the West Green of the Athens campus. It houses the Psychology, Environmental & Plant Biology, and Psychology and Social Work Clinic departments.

Porter Hall was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and began his career touring as a stage actor. He appeared in many films, such as Double Indemnity, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Thin Man, often playing villains or comedic roles.
