John Wendell Thompson (born April 24, 1949) [citation needed] is an American technology executive who was the chair of Microsoft from 2014 until June 2021, and chair of Illumina from 2021 until 2023.
7 de dic. de 2023 · John W. Thompson left the Microsoft Board of Directors in December 2023 after 10 years of service. He is a partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners and a former CEO of Symantec and IBM.
Mr. Thompson serves as Lead Independent Director, Microsoft Corporation. He was independent Chairman of the Board of Directors for Microsoft Corporation from February 4, 2014 to June 2021. He has been a member of the board since February 2012.
