Joseph Isaac Clanton (c.1847 – June 1, 1887) was a member of a loose association of outlaws known as The Cowboys who clashed with lawmen Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp as well as Doc Holliday.

11 de nov. de 2020 · He was shot and killed on June 1st, 1887 near Eagle Creek in the White Mountains of eastern AZ. Two lawmen, Jake Brighton and Albert Miller, were attempting to arrest him for cattle theft at Jim “Peg Leg” Wilson’s ranch. Suddenly, Ike wheeled his horse around and bolted toward a thick stand of trees nearby.

In Tombstone at the time of the gunfight were five members of the Cowboys: Billy Claiborne, brothers Ike and Billy Clanton, and brothers Tom and Frank McLaury. During that brief battle, 3 men were killed, 3 were wounded, 2 ran away, and one fought but was unharmed.
