Synopsis. About the young man Jean, who returns home to Norway after being at sea. At his mother's deathbed, he recalls events from his youth in the 1950s and 1960s....
A hard drinking mother Else (Kari Simonsen) and the violent and bad mouthed stepfather "ManRay" (Bjørn Floberg), do not make the life of Jean easy. The family pet, a turtle named "Lynet" (The lightning) and the mildly retarded Abbor Anders, are probably the only friends Jean got.
