Wilfried Brauer (8 August 1937 – 25 February 2014 [1]) was a German computer scientist and professor emeritus at Technical University of Munich. [2] Life and work. Brauer studied Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy at the Free University of Berlin.

Er wurde 1971 der erste ordentliche Professor des damaligen Instituts für Informatik der Universität Hamburg. Dort hat er zahlreiche Haupt- und Nebenfach-Studenten der Informatik in theoretischer Informatik unterrichtet und eine Vielzahl von Diplom- und Doktorarbeiten betreut.
Wilfried Brauer (Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult) has been a full professor of informatics since April 1971 (first at the University of Hamburg and moved to Technical University Munich in September 1985, since September 2005, he has been an emeritus).
