John Maynard Smith FRS (6 January 1920 – 19 April 2004) was a British theoretical and mathematical evolutionary biologist and geneticist. Originally an aeronautical engineer during the Second World War, he took a second degree in genetics under the biologist J. B. S. Haldane.

John Maynard Smith FRS (6 de enero de 1920 - 19 abril de 2004) fue un biólogo y genetista evolutivo teórico y matemático británico. Originalmente ingeniero aeronáutico durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, obtuvo una segunda licenciatura en genética con el conocido biólogo J. B. S. Haldane.
