Egon Sharpe Pearson 1 (11 de agosto de 1895 – 12 de junio de 1980) fue un estadístico británico, hijo del también estadístico Karl Pearson. 2 3 . Acudió al Winchester College y al Trinity College de Cambridge, y sucedió a su padre como profesor de estadística en el University College de Londres y como editor de la revista Biometrika.
Pearson was educated at Winchester College and Trinity College, Cambridge, and succeeded his father as professor of statistics at University College London and as editor of the journal Biometrika. He is best known for development of the Neyman–Pearson lemma of statistical hypothesis testing.
