Frans Janszoon Post ( Haarlem, 1612- Haarlem, 1680) fue un pintor barroco neerlandés. Se le conoce sobre todo por haber sido el primer europeo de la historia que pintó los paisajes de Sudamérica, concretamente de la zona de Pernambuco, en Brasil y el delta del río São Francisco .
Frans Janszoon Post (17 November 1612 – 17 February 1680) was a painter during the Dutch Golden Age. He was the first European artist to paint landscapes of the Americas, during and after the period of Dutch Brazil.

Biografía. (1612-1680) Nació en Haarlem, Países Bajos aproximadamente en 1612. En 1636 viajó a Brasil en el séquito del príncipe Johan Maurits de Nassau, gobernador del país. El trabajo de Post era registrar los aspectos de la vida en Brasil como flora, fauna y paisaje en general.
Frans Post (1612-1680), a printmaker, painter and draughtsman, was born in Haarlem. He was the son of Jan Jansz. Post, a glass painter from Leiden, and younger brother of Pieter Post, a painter and architect.
