Anthon Gerard Alexander van Rappard (Zeist, 14 de mayo de 1858-Santpoort, 21 de marzo de 1892) fue un pintor y dibujante neerlandés. Fue discípulo de Lawrence Alma-Tadema y Jean-Léon Gérôme y durante cuatro años amigo y mentor de Vincent van Gogh, de quien se dice que le apreció por su compromiso social, entre otras razones.
Anthon Gerard Alexander van Rappard (14 May 1858, Zeist – 21 March 1892, Santpoort) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman. He was a pupil of Lawrence Alma-Tadema. He was also a friend and mentor of Vincent van Gogh for about four years, who is said to have appreciated him for his social engagement, amongst other reasons.
Most discussions of the Dutch artist, Anthon van Rappard focus on his complex friendship with Vincent van Gogh. Between 1881-1885, the two artists travelled together in Holland and often worked side by side.

At the urging of his brother Theo, in 1880 Vincent visited the young Dutch painter Anthon van Rappard, who was studying at the art academy in Brussels. The first meeting between this sprig of the nobility and Vincent the ‘drifter’ was rather awkward, but soon they became friends.
