René François Armand Sully Prudhomme ( París, 16 de marzo de 1839 - Châtenay-Malabry, 6 de septiembre de 1907) fue un poeta y ensayista francés, ganador del primer Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1901.

Poeta francés. Sully Prudhomme nació el 16 de marzo de 1839 en París. Cursó estudios de Ingeniería, Leyes y Filosofía. Sus primeros poemas, aparecieron en Estancias y poemas (1865), Los destinos (1872) y Los vanos afectos (1875). En la guerra Franco-Prusiana se alistó al ejército.

Sully Prudhomme was a French poet and member of the French Academy who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1901. He wrote poetry that combined formal perfection, elegance and philosophic and scientific interests, and translated Lucretius' De Rerum Natura.
