One by One is the fourth studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on October 22, 2002, through Roswell and RCA Records. Production on the album was troubled, with initial recording sessions considered unsatisfying and raising tensions between the band members.

David Eric Grohl ( Warren, Ohio, 14 de enero de 1969) es un músico multiinstrumentista estadounidense de rock. Saltó a la fama a comienzos de los años 1990 como batería de la icónica banda de grunge Nirvana.
In 2002, Grohl helped Chan Marshall of Cat Power on the album You Are Free and played with Queens of the Stone Age on their album Songs for the Deaf. Grohl also toured with the band in support of the album, delaying work on the Foo Fighters' album One by One.
"No One Knows" was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 2003 Grammys and was the band's first, but they lost the award to Foo Fighters for "All My Life", which was credited to Dave Grohl, who was filling in as the drummer for Queens of the Stone Age.
