In the bay of Vritannis, during Guts' battle with the Kushan wizard general Daiba, the Dragon Slayer is imbued with the power of a fire spirit of woe summoned by Schierke. Guts uses the empowered sword to deal a blazing blast to the Kundalini aiding Daiba, causing the magical beast's large water form to dematerialize.
Dragonslayer is roughly 60 inches long, 12 inches (average) wide, and about 2 inches in depth. That's about 1440 cubic inches. I didn't account for the tapered edges of the blade, but even if you cut the weight in half it's still 204.
The original reason it was 'special' was because big and thick enough to take on demons. Most swords would be easily broken by apostles, but the Dragon Slayer is described as essentially a huge slab of iron.

It seems like there has been a few posts lately about the Dragonslayer sword, and the other day, I decided to give it a go. I am a mechanical engineer, and have always been curious about what kind of beastly strength Guts must have to swing this monster around.
