Featuring the beauty of the never-ending western South Dakota prairie, one of the largest herds of American Bison in the world, and the famous Lakota Sioux culture, “Dances With Wolves” introduced South Dakota's wonders to the world.
The South Dakota Film Museum, highlighting over 50 movies that were produced in the State, is located just inside the Headquarters building of the Dances With Wolves Film Set. The museum is free, and open to the public from mid-May to mid-October.
6 de dic. de 2012 · Toward the beginning of Kevin Costner's epic "Dances With Wolves" his character John Dunbar is sent to Fort Hays, Kansas to receive an assignment further out on the frontier. The fort was recreated and the scenes filmed east of Rapid City on Highway 44.
Every day from mid-May through October, our sightseeing tour carves its way through the Black Hills, beginning at the Dances with Wolves film set in Fort Hays.
