Make sure the timecode IN/OUT switch on the side of the camera is set accordingly. “EXT” will appear on the screen next to the timecode display on the FX6 that is set to input timecode. You can disconnect the cable after the cameras are jam synced.

Does anyone have experience working with the Sony FX6 camera getting external timecode to input properly? Im connecting a Tentacle Sync via BNC to timecode, the switch is set to input, but I just cant seem to find the menu item that tells the camera to accept timecode externally or to “jam”.
Use one of our timecode generators Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGINAL or our TRACK E to supply your camera with timecode information. Proceed as follows: Set camera and Tentacle device to the same frame rate; Synchronize your Tentacle device, so it's outputting timecode (blinking green) Set the camera menu: TC/Media > Timecode > Mode > Preset
