William Cecil Campbell FRS (born 28 June 1930) is an Irish biologist and parasitologist with United States citizenship, known for his work in discovering a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworms, for which he was jointly awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Investigador. Entre 1957 y 1990 fue investigador el Merck Institute for Therapeutic Research, y de 1984 a 1990, científico sénior y director de Investigación y Desarrollo. Investigador emérito en la Universidad Drew de Madison, en el estado norteamericano de Nueva Jersey.
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2015 was divided, one half jointly to William C. Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura "for their discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites" and the other half to Tu Youyou "for her discoveries concerning a novel therapy against Malaria"

William C. Campbell delivered his Nobel Lecture on 7 December 2015 at Aula Medica, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. He was introduced by Professor Jan Andersson, Adjunct Member of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine.
