Hace 4 días · Newer Gibson Les Pauls (2015 and newer?) come with stock 500KΩ pots, so they are not as "muddy" as older models with 350KΩ pots. The 490/498 humbuckers sound better for higher gain rock and blues, and the Burstbuckers have more treble response and are more versatile, IMO.
Hace 4 días · I would recommend a Les Paul Studio or Les Paul Standard, depending on what you want to spend (as you want the "wow" factor of having a "real Gibson"). Save other bells and whistles features for later.

Hace 4 días · Title says it all. I've had the R4 on my list for countless years and have found one semi-local, that I'll likely purchase (assuming it plays well, which I'm sure it does). I was thinking of a vintage 60's SG Special, but at current prices, I'd need to play in-person before purchasing.
