Ooty (listen ⓘ; officially Udhagamandalam, anglicized: Ootacamund (listen ⓘ), abbreviated as Udhagai) is a town and municipality in the Nilgiris district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 86 km (53 mi) northwest of Coimbatore, and is the headquarters of Nilgiris district.
