The Great Escape is een Amerikaanse film uit 1963 over de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Het is een verfilming van een waargebeurd verhaal tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Hendley and Blythe steal an airplane to fly over the Swiss border, but the engine fails, and they crash-land. Soldiers arrive. Blythe, his eyesight damaged, stands and is shot.
