He is best known for having played the title role in the 90-minute weekly Western television series The Virginian, which was broadcast on NBC from 1962 to 1971. Drury was born in New York City, the son of James Child Drury and Beatrice Crawford Drury.

8 de abr. de 2020 · The publicist for James Drury, who starred in NBC's The Virginian, announced that the actor had passed away at the age of 85. He died of natural causes while at his home in Houston, Texas on Monday. He leaves behind two sons with his wife, Carl Ann, who passed away last year.
