27 de may. de 1974 · LOS ANGELES, May 26 (AP) —Donald Crisp, who won an Academy Award for best supporting actor of 1941 for his performance in “How Green Was My Valley,” died yesterday in a Van Nuys hospital.

Donald Crisp was a film director and a skilled and versatile character actor who began his long career in Silent Movies and who continued to appear regularly on screen until the 1960s. He was influenced initially by D. W. Griffith and he appeared in numerous top quality movies, such as ' Mutiny on the Bounty' in 1935 and 'The Life of Emile Zola' in 1937.

He was a landscaper, former president of Young Men's United, and a member of the Black History Club. He was born on May 7, 1956 to his parents, the late G.W. and Dora Belle Carr Crisp. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Crisp.
