Biografi. Basil Rathbone föddes i Sydafrika av brittiska föräldrar. Han fick sin skolutbildning i England och gjorde scendebut där 1911. Han gjorde mest klassiska roller, huvudsakligen Shakespeare i såväl England som USA. Filmdebuten skedde i England 1921 i Innocent.Rathbone kom till USA i mitten på 1920-talet där han sedan hade en rad romantiska roller.
27 de jun. de 2019 · Basil Rathbone portrays the character of Sherlock Holmes so well that he's a joy to watch, even if the time period is "wrong" and the plots are ridiculous. And even though Watson is absent-minded, and frequently silly, he is charming. The chemistry between Rathbone and Bruce is superb.
Basil Rathbone is again superlative in the role of Sherlock Holmes, infusing the detective with the color, mystery and genius which have made the character a byword all over the world.
