Black Sabbath organizó una ceremonia en el Whisky a Go Go, Hollywood, California, el 11 de noviembre de 2011, que se popularizó con una campaña de expectativa que mostraba el clásico logo de Black Sabbath proveniente del álbum Master of Reality y un 11.11.11, para realizar un comunicado oficial.

This logo was used on their sixth album, Sabotage (1975). It was also used in the 1976 greatest hits album We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll. This particular shape of the letter S was first seen on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973).

The logo, introduced by Black Sabbath in 2013, is completely different from all other versions, as executed in thin and clean lines of a white sans-serif typeface. To make it more visible on light backgrounds, the lettering is outlined in gray and features a light and thin shadow in the same color.
The band's logo, first seen on the cover of Master of Reality (1971). 1968–1969: Formation and early days. Following the break-up of their previous band, Mythology, in 1968, guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward sought to form a heavy blues rock band in Aston, Birmingham.
