Richard was a proud graduate of Boston English High School, never mentioning the school’s name without recognizing its distinction as “America’s first public high school.” Throughout his life, he aspired to and fulfilled the promise of becoming a graduate of “honor and distinction,” the English High School mission since its inception in 1821.
