MIAP is a two-year, interdisciplinary course of study that trains future professionals to manage preservation-level collections of film, video, new media, and digital works. MIAP is situated within New York University’s Department of Cinema Studies, part of the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television in the Tisch School of the Arts.
The Department of Art & Public Policy at NYU Tisch is an interdisciplinary department focusing on the relationship between art and politics. Courses focus on the interplay between theory and practice; critiquing systems of power through a lens of arts activism.
Our M.A. in Arts Politics offers an intimate and intensive one-year experience that expands the possibilities of cultural production. We rigorously explore the interplay between critical theory and creative practice. We provide a one-of-a-kind encounter with activists, artists, theorists and curators from diverse disciplines and interests.
