Biography. Hon. Charles Spencer Cowper was born on 7 June 1816. He was the son of Peter Leopold Louis Francis Nassau Cowper, 5th Earl Cowper and Hon. Emily Mary Lamb. He married, firstly, Lady Harriett Anne Janes Frances Gardiner, daughter of Charles John Gardiner, 1st and last Earl of Blessington and Mary Campbell Macdougall, on 1 September 1852.
